House Democrats pulled legislation Thursday that would have renewed expired domestic surveillance laws and strengthened transparency and privacy protections amid broad opposition from President Trump, House GOP leadership and progressive Democrats. Why it matters: The failure to reauthorize the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) comes as Trump continues to attack the intelligence community, which he claims abused the law to surveil his 2016 campaign and Trump administration officials.

Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.), Hillary Clinton's vice presidential pick in 2016, announced Thursday that both he and his wife, Anne Holton, tested positive for coronavirus antibodies after suffering from flu-like symptoms in March and April. What he's saying: While Kaine said their doctors believed they might have the virus after previously testing positive for the flu, he and his wife were not tested because of a shortage at the time  and the fact that they were both working remotely and isolated at home already.

In its usual Thursday blog, Bungie revealed when players can learn more about the future of Destiny 2. According to Bungie, players will learn about season 11 of Destiny 2 at the same time that we talk about the next chapter in the story that has been unfolding all year long. While cryptic, this likely means Bungie will announce Destiny 2s fall expansion alongside details of the currently unnamed season 11. Monday, June 1 is the official extended deadline for Canadians to file their 2019 personal tax returns, unless you or your spouse (or common-law partner) is self-employed, in which case you both have until June 15, 2020 to file. Youll recall that the normal filing deadline, as well as the deadline to pay amounts owed, is April 30, but it was extended back in March as part of the initial COVID-19 relief measures.
