Mr Andrews has been asked about reports claiming 100 ADF personnel were put on stand-by for the hotel quarantine program.
“I see some reports, but theres no names associated with any of those reports,” he said.
“Its not my practice nor will ever be to comment on claims that dont have someones name next to them.
“I just dont have the time. And I dont think those who are watching this today, and every day would want me to be spending time on those sorts of political issues, they apparently relate to matters that are three or four months old.
“Weve were in the fight of our lives right now. And thats what Im exclusively focused on and whether whether that be popular or not.
“This is not a popularity contest, its a global pandemic. Thats my focus, and it will not be changing.
“But what Im saying to you is that Ive got no idea whos made those claims, so I wont make any judgment on their accuracy or otherwise. I stand here every day. My name is associated with everything I say because Im saying it.
“If people want to make claims then they probably need to put their name to what theyre saying, I would have thought, but again, could I just, the greatest respect to you Im not in any way, criticising you for asking the question, but in my judgment, Ive just spent more time on that issue than I should, because Ive got a lot of other very very important things to get on with things that I can change and can influence, things that are about saving lives and driving down case numbers.
“Thats always been my focus. So I think Ive answered your question.”
